Cross Roads!
The merriment of the 2008 new year celebrations was tinged with a fleeting sadness, as it was decided that we were to bid adieu at the same occasion to a memorable year 2007. Even the heavens conspired that morning to remind us that it was to be a day of sad farewell, as a torrential rainfall preceded and sunshine after the great downpour reflected the mixed and contradictory emotions of the day. Nevertheless, with some regrets are left behind in 2007, the sun will always shine for tomorrow.
When I was younger... I was exposed to the wonderful world of art, being able to draw and paint with a precision and flair that makes them(classmates) artistically-challenged beings can only envy from afar. At that moment, I'm very thankful for such gift that most people brag about. Ever since, I've always dreamed of being a creative artistic soul. Working with the paint and brushes to transform a completely blank canvas and bring it to life with bold strokes and vibrant hues has always been my dream. However, this just goes to show that even the best laid plans have a way of taking a totally unexpected turn when I was asked to choose between accounting and arts. I have interest in both, neither one exceed 100% in the scale. However for a brighter future, my path took a completely unexpected turn. It sounds incredibly cliched, but I can't stress enough on how important it is to love what you do. Sure I do love art but I can learn to love accounting. To think of taking a job out of passion and interest, naturally you'll give it 101%, and the results will shine through in your work performance. With hope resides within me and the sacrifices I willing to give in, anything seems possible.
Ahhh... how weird when life philosophies occurs to my thought during oddest moment. As the New Year ceremony ended with the heartrending strains of Auld Lang Syne, few brightly coloured fire balls shoot high up in the air accompanying music which greeted the arrival of 2008. Noting the look of astonishment on my face, leaning my both hands on the windowsill, hearing the overjoyed crowd, this feeling I have felt familiar... simply reminds me of every new year's day and the same thought occurs to me again!
