Hachikuro Drama

Hachikuro Drama
It's obvious that I've been living in a cave that I didn't even know until now that there will be a Honey and Clover live action drama coming up on the 8th of January, which is tomorrow. =.=.

Judging Based On Previews

Just when I thought they can't milk this even more, Fuji TV proved me wrong. If the movie was good, I might have been more receptive towards this one but the movie was a disaster so I'm wary about this drama. Thankfully they get the casting of Takemoto right this time around. Ikuta Toma definitely looks more like Takemoto than Sakurai Shou. And it's not like Shou was an acting powerhouse in the first place so he will not be missed. Unfortunately they decide to cast Narimiya Hiroki as Morita O.o. Sorry to his fangirls but I dislike him very much. I find his 'acting' to be the worst part of NANA: the movie. I wish they had cast Eita as Morita.

As for the rest, the girls who'll play Hagu and Ayu and the guy who'll play Mayama look okay. Also, that Hirai Ken's theme song is awesome. XD
F.Y.I, this is Hirai Ken~~~~~

Check out his song- Elegy, it's simply the best of Ken~ ^^

The Movie: First Impression

Higurashi movie
Maybe I was just expecting too much from the film but I didn't enjoy the live action version of Honey and Clover. First of all though, judging from the audience's interest in the movie, this is clearly a very popular series in Japan. I didn't expect many people to actually come and see the film since apart from Sakurai Sho, the rest of the actors are relative unknowns.

I assume the popularity is due to the manga and anime version of the story. This is why I don't understand why the film writers decided to alter some of the more interesting stories and the characters' background. Unfortunately, I have to say I still prefer the sequence of the story from the anime.

Hachikuro drama

I'm just hoping that the drama (Hachikuro drama) will avoid one major trap that the movie fell into. I'm referring to the fact that the movie makes the series look like it's all about romance when the series is actually more than that. A big portion of Honey and Clover is about Takemoto finding out about himself, what he wants to be, what he can't achieve, and his desperation to find his future path. These are elements that make the manga and the anime feel resonant to most viewers.

The movie foolishly sidesteps this and look just like any other Japanese love story as a result. I can understand that there is a limit of 2 hours time for a movie but the drama is not limited like this so it really has no reason to exclude those elements. I just rewatched the anime again, which is currently showing in "Animax" the other day and I still find many parts of the story can be easy to relate. Even characters like Kaoru, who only appears in season 2 for a few episodes, it feels like an important part of the entire series.

Hopefully it turns out great, can't wait for the drama series XD.

Another Wacky MV from Yuki

Naturally, the singer who sang in Honey and Clover (anime), also sings for the drama series with the same song. Except this time her MV is not animated form. I can just imagine the ad that Yuki placed to obtain the extras in this MV: Fugainaiya. Wanted - Gaijins who are willing to dress up as maid, lamp, table, and portrait while screaming 'fugainaiya-iya'. That said, the MV is actually kind of amusing and a lot better than the one that was used for Dramatic.

Yuki - Fugainaiya is the opening theme II for the drama series. It seems that the MV has a combination of Alice in Wonderland and Beauty and the Beast theme.

I personally prefer to see weird MVs like this one instead of the ones that bore me to tears. It's clear that lots of money were poured into the MV. The costume itself probably eats a quarter of the budget and then there is the actual maze which looks awesome. Overall, its sort of frightening at first, yes! It does scares me a little, but this is a fun MV that does represent Honey and Clover series really well.

Can't wait for the live action version of Honey & Clover to release.

Okay, that's about it for the day.
Take carez ^.<
