August888

August, 888

The yellow leaf dances as the wind blows, together with a familiar scent was once to be inhaled again when we bid adieu to the month of July and entering the fearsome month of the Hungry Ghost. According to Chinese culture, it is believed that the time of year when hungry ghosts are released from "hell" to roam freely is a dangerous month.

Tips:
It is a good idea during this month to have more yang than yin energy, so wearing bright colours is better than wearing sombre colours.

During the 1st of August, a rather unwary total eclipse of the sun occurred, a phenomenon where the moon passes between the Earth and the sun. Many people symbolised this as a creation by Mother nature which signify lavish beauty; however, in China, it is believed the dragon swallows the sun during an eclipse. As a result, they would beat drums to produce great noise and commotion to frighten away the dragon, so a solar eclipse is not regarded as a good sign.

The eclipse will be visible in across a wide swath of the globe—including northeastern North America along with most of Europe and Asia. In most places people will be able to see a partial eclipse, but in Russia, many parts of India and China, a full eclipse can be seen in the late afternoon.

Scientists value total eclipses, in part because they provide a rare glimpse of the corona, which is usually obscured by the glow of the sun, but to many peoples across Asia a total eclipse of the sun is a sign of bad things to come - in the past these events were usually linked to famine, wars and the death of kings ....

This total solar eclipse visible over China and occurring a week before the Beijing Olympics is certain to cause consternation amongst the superstitious. In fact most Chinese astrologers predict some turbulence, which can affect the stock markets and perhaps spill over on to the streets. According to astrology experts in Hong Kong, the eclipse could bring some political turbulence and problems to the transport and communication networks in Beijing during the Games.

Although all this are emitted from the myths of ancient Chinese, how true this myths are its best to not relate it to the 888, commence of the Beijing Olympics. As we all believe that the great amount of diligence endowed by China to this event will promised a begotten delight performances to all.

Don't forget to watch the open ceremony of Beijing Olympics ;D

Ain't those pandas cute? ;D

p.s: this is a totally based on superstitious, and could be pompous and meaningless to you. haha ;D
