D'Eon and Lia de Beaumont
Storyline/Plot:
One day in 18th-century France, a casket with the world "Psalms" was written on the cover is found floating down the River Seine. When the coffin is fished out of the river, the body of a young women is found inside. But no one is more horrified than D'Eon de Beaumont, a French aristocrat and the brother of the dead women, Lia, who was a secret agent for King Louis XV. Ever since then, unknown forces are plotting in the shadows to plunge Europe's grandest capital into chaos.
Enraged by his sister's death, quiet and studious D'Eon joins the secret police, a shadow organisation created to keep the in French society. However, the only clues to her murder are the word "Psalms", the symbol "H?O", and the letters "nqm". Every code has a patterns, every patterns has a message and every messages has it past. So, what do they mean?
Things take a turn for the worst when members of the secret police are suddenly assassinated one night. D'Eon soon finds out that his sister's death is even more complicated than it seemed. And to compound matters, it seems that Lia is unable to rest in peace! Filled with hatred and a lust for vengeance, the restless soul of his murdered sister, Lia, wanders this world, she finds the perfect vessel through which she can exact her revenge - D'Eon's own body. Lia's soul soon possesses D'Eon's body, sometimes taking full control of his body and turning him into a bloodthirsty fencer.
Thrust into a world of lies and deceit, D'Eon struggles to uncover the truth behind his sister's murder. Coupled with a team of unlikely allies, international conspiracies slowly come to light just as political conflict escalates... .
Some Fun Facts:
The real chevalier D'Eon lived during the 18th century and was a diplomatic spy for Louis XI. He often masqueraded as a woman to conduct his espionage activities. So good was his cross-dressing that many speculated that he was actually a woman. It was only until his death in 1810 that he was examined and proved to be automatically a man!

My End Verdict:
A great anime which dose of history in it and historical figures actually make cameos, such as Catherine the Great of Russia. The animation quality is undoubtedly high, indeed a beautiful sight to behold. With its incredible animation. solid voice cast, colorful characters and intriguing plot, Le Chevalier D'Eon is an epic anime series that should excite those who enjoy a good mystery.
