Imagine if one day, you come across a mysterious book and find yourself suddenly whisked away into a mythical world of celestial warriors and powerful gods? That's what happens to ordinary school girl Miaka Yuuki!

Storyline
Like most junior high school girls, Miaka has her share of problems: squabbles with mom, entrance exams, and deciding which fast food joint to hang out at after school. However, her life is forever changed when she and her best friend Yui find a mysterious book, the "Four Gods of the Earth and Sky" in the library and are transported into its mythical world.
There, Miaka is proclaimed the Priestess of the god Suzaku and must bring peace to the warring lands with the help and protection of the seven star warriors, Tamahome, Hotohori, Nuriko, Chichiri, Mitsukake, Chiriko and Tasuki.
However, the enemy kingdom has made Yui the priestess of a rival god. Spurred on by half-truths and lies, Yui is only too eager to fulfill her new role by thwarting Miaka's quest-even if it means killing her best friend!
